Surgical options for chronic ingrown toe nails. Using a chemical to permanently remove the nail. Can remove the entire nail or only a portion of the nail.
A 2 point hallux block used to freeze the toe to give pain relief while removing the ingrown toe nail for either short term improvement or permanent resolution.
Onyfix medical device applied to correct the curvature of the nail. Also, used to help nail grow in correctly. A painless option for those not wanting surgery.
A portion of the nail that is growing in to the side causing the infection is removed permanently. The space where the nail was will not remain as the skin will move next to nail again. Roughly 6 weeks healing time.
If both sides of the nail are curled in to the side of the toe and causing a lot of pain. We can remove the entire nail permanently so it doesn't grow back again and cause further infection.
Another option instead of surgery is having regular footcare performed every 6-8 weeks on average to have your nails cut from a medical professional in order to prevent infection.
