Pain in the heel. Generally, occurs first thing in the morning when you get out of bed, or when you sit for a period of time. Swelling can be involved as well. Can be treated with Custom Orthotic Insoles, proper footwear, shockwave therapy, and cortisone injection.

Pain in the heel, can have swelling on the inside of the heel, painful with pressure, walking. Normally, you have had heel pain prior to the heel spur presenting. Confirmed with an x-ray. The medial calcaneal nerve can also be involved and cause sharp shooting pain up the leg or in to the foot. Treatable with custom orthotic insoles, proper footwear, shockwave, cortisone injection. Very rare surgical intervention.
